The Zimbabwe project targets the local retail sector, deploying four GS125-261LS liquid-cooled energy storage units to build an integrated solar-diesel-storage microgrid. Commercial spaces have strict demands for continuous, stable power to keep elevators, lighting, security systems, and tenant equipment running smoothly. To meet this, the system operates on a "solar and storage first" logic. When connected to the grid, solar and battery power work in tandem to maximize clean energy use. If the grid goes down, the batteries take over instantly. Whether the power cuts out or comes back on, the transition is completely seamless, ensuring zero downtime for mall operations.
This solution not only aligns with Africa’s broader shift toward clean energy but also solves a critical pain point for businesses. Meanwhile, the Nigeria project focuses on agriculture, featuring two custom GS105-AS229 air-cooled storage units designed to create an "off-grid first, multi-source complementary" microgrid. Farms typically face scattered loads and massive power fluctuations. Here, the system prioritizes keeping off-grid loads powered: solar energy is harvested and stored during the day, then discharged at night or during cloudy periods. If solar and battery capacity fall short, the system automatically switches to grid power or diesel generators, guaranteeing that irrigation, processing, and storage equipment never skip a beat.
This approach perfectly addresses the reality of African farms that are far from the main grid and rely on self-generated power. By using solar and storage as the primary sources with diesel or grid power as a reliable backup, the system cuts both diesel costs and carbon emissions, laying a solid foundation for agricultural stability and modernization.
